What processors check in feedstock
Activation turns charcoal into a different product. These are the questions a processor asks before buying charcoal to feed it.
The checklist
- Fixed carbon and the basis it is quoted on.
- Volatile matter, which decides how the charcoal behaves in the furnace.
- Ash, and whether it is low enough for your product.
- Moisture at loading.
- Particle size or mesh, and its spread.
- Hardness of the charcoal.
- How uniform one lot is compared with the next.
- Which documents arrive, and a COA per lot.
What Kora can answer today
Fixed carbon, moisture and ash limits as published. For volatile matter, size spread and hardness, Kora publishes no figures: ask for a sample and a laboratory report before you commit.
How to use this list
Send the list to any supplier as written. Mark each line answered, not answered, or not published. A line marked not published is a reason to ask for a laboratory report, not a reason to assume.
